update on the EP and venturing out…
by j0n on Jun.04, 2011, under News
Good morning, starshine. The mixing of the EP is moving along, as is the planning for the limited edition physical CDs… which are gonna be, we hope, something special. We’re trying to get this out by the end of August, so we can do the official release when we play BIMA Fest.
We’re also hoping to set off for the deep south one weekend in August, so keep an eyeball out for that, too.
New EP in the works!

Greetings dwellers of the deep, dark, dank internet,
We’re pleased to announce that we’re in the process of mixing a sort of spur-of-the-moment live EP we recorded last week. This one’s a bit of a departure from some of the stuff we normally do. Well, “departure” might be a bit of an overstatement, but it definitely emphasizes some things that we generally tend to more hint at than come right out and yell. It’s gonna be about 30 minutes, veering from some doom-y type stuff to some straight up avant-noise-experimental-whatever-pretentious-kinda-name-you-wanna-call-it stuff.
Anyhoo, we’re pretty excited about it and we’ll hopefully have it out in the next couple months.
Yours in psychosis,
jon
Rock Back for Japan and BIMA Fest 2011

Hello fellow cosmonauts, two pieces of news to announce.
First, we’ll be one of many independent shoegaze/space rock/neopsych type bands to be on a series of compilations to raise money to help with the recovery efforts in Japan. Rock Back for Japan is being put together by Tom (of Philly bliss rock band Stellarscope) at Patetico Records. It’ll have seven volumes of digital downloads and CDs with the proceeds going to the Japan Disaster Relief Fund. Get some great new music for a very important cause!
Also, we just found out that we’ll be playing the Baltimore Independent Music and Arts Festival again this year. Last year was a great time; we played with excellent bands like Brief Candles (from Milwaukee) and the Thrushes and we’re lookin forward to another great show. Not sure the exact date or venue we’re playing yet, but the festival will be from Thursday 8/25 – Sunday 8/28. Keep an eye on the BIMA fest website for details.

Lotsa news to post…
First, today marks the official release of our first full-length album, Sentinels of the Heliosphere. It’s available directly from Sleepy Records here. It’ll also be available on Amazon, iTunes, and other onliney places… and also in real, honest-to-goodness, brick-and-mortar record stores, thanks to Morphius distribution.
Second, we’ve added a new track to our Listen section, A ghost of Hex. We recorded this track in tribute to our good friend, Waltr Carpenter, who left this earthly plane far too early. This track, and a bunch of others from Waltr’s friends on the Baltimore local music scene, will be available as a tape only release from New Baltimore Records.

It’s official! Our debut full length cd, Sentinels of the Heliosphere, will be released December 14th on Sleepy Records. Earlier this week, we sent our final mixes off to be mastered (by Knack Mastering). We’ll have some preview tracks up for download starting in September. And we’re in the midst of planning our CD release show, which’ll probably be either December 11th or 12th… and, if things go as planned, will involve some delicious locally home brewed beer. More details on that as things develop…
Very excited!
