by j0n on Aug.08, 2010, under Shows

We’re really excited to be playing the Birdnote Records showcase at the Windup Space on August 27th as part of the Baltimore Independent Music and Arts Festival. Birdnote has put together a great lineup, with Thrushes, Avec, Brief Candles (Milwaukee, WI), Bellflur (Washington, DC), and us as special guests.

album update

by j0n on Jul.29, 2010, under News

It’s official! Our debut full length cd, Sentinels of the Heliosphere, will be released December 14th on Sleepy Records. Earlier this week, we sent our final mixes off to be mastered (by Knack Mastering). We’ll have some preview tracks up for download starting in September. And we’re in the midst of planning our CD release show, which’ll probably be either December 11th or 12th… and, if things go as planned, will involve some delicious locally home brewed beer. More details on that as things develop…

Very excited!

Benefit Show for Mike Bell, Friday July 9th

by j0n on Jun.15, 2010, under Shows

Mike shattered his foot last fall and has been out of commission since then. He has been a fixture on the Baltimore music scene for 30 years, playing in bands such as The Platinum Slug, Temple of Bon Matin (who played a great show at SCarey Studios back in the days of yore), the Pleasant Livers, and many others.

To help him out, MT6 Records is putting on a benefit show with a crazy fuckton of bands! they will be:

label-signing (!) and upcoming shows

by j0n on Apr.21, 2010, under News, Shows

It’s official, our first full length disc will be released on Sleepy Records! It looks like we’ll be aiming for a release date of November, but we’ll continue to update the site as things move along.

Also, we’ve got two shows in Baltimore lined up in the near future. On Friday, May 21st, we’ll be playing a benefit show at the Lithuanian Hall. Then on Friday, June 4th, we’ll be playing at Dionysus. The Lith Hall has amazingly cheap drinks; Dionysus has amazingly tasty drinks. We’ll post more info about the shows and flyers and whatnot in the near future.

for waltr

by j0n on Mar.28, 2010, under Featured

A dear friend of ours, Walter Carpenter, took his own life last November. Walter, apart from being a remarkable human being, was also juggernaut on the Baltimore music and arts scene. Soon after he left this earthly plane, the Bank, a DIY venue in West Baltimore that Walter loved dearly, held a memorial show in his honor. Performing this song was our contribution to the preservation of his memory. Not that he really needs any help with that… no one’s gonna forget him.

alrighty…

by j0n on Mar.20, 2010, under Featured, News

we’ve been sitting on this site for some time now, so i figured it’s time to stop fucking around and set it to go live. we’re still working some stuff out, so bear with us. got some mp3s up from our show at the hexagon last july (which is, by the by, the last recording of us by the baltimore taper, but… that’s a whole nother story) and some rough versions of tracks from our upcoming full length debut.

speaking of…  recording for the debut full-length, Sentinels of the Heliosphere, is going well and moving along, despite assorted personal tragedies and incapacitated spines. we’re probably looking at a release date of early fall, but we’ll be posting updates as things develop.

in the meantime, you can get our debut e. p., released last june. you can buy the mp3s from amazon, itunes, and those sortsa places. you may also be able to order the hardcopy by mail, if i set up the online shopping cart thingie correctly….

anyhow, hello world,

–jon
